In the Netherlands a growing portion of students and their parents are not capable anymore to cover the costs for Vet education. Besides a general fee for Vet parents also need to cover equipment costs and travel costs, leading to a total of costs which the poor families are not able to cover any more. Although still a small group this tendency is a huge alarm signal, indicating the existence of system failures creating unequal chances in the opportunity to follow education.
